Our solar system’s 8 planets + the asteroid belts (They don’t count Pluto as a planet anymore, oh wait, now Pluto is back as a Planet!!!). Starting from the sun, the 4 smaller planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars, then the Main Asteroid Belt, which is composed of asteroids mostly made of stone, iron, nickel, and other ores. After the Main Asteroid Belt come the 4 larger planets: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, followed by The Kuiper Belt, which is mostly composed of icy objects, dwarf planets (including Pluto), dust, and comets. Kuiper Belt objects are known as KBO’s. After that is the Oort Cloud, which is composed of billions of icy pieces of space debris extending to the edge of the solar system. Sometimes objects from the Oort Cloud become dislodged and fall toward the sun, becoming comets. The asteroid belts are not as impenetrable as they look. The objects in the Main Asteroid Belt average about 600,000 miles apart. Probes like Voyager 1 and 2, Pioneer, and others have passed through these belts successfully, and NASA’s New Horizon visited the Kuiper Belt specifically, flying past Pluto and photographing it. Five still active probes currently have enough velocity to escape our solar system. Voyager 1 transitioned into interstellar space in 2012. As of 2019, Voyager 1, Voyager 2 and Pioneer 10 are the only probes to have actually reached interstellar space. The other two are on interstellar trajectories.
