Saturn

Saturn was, and is, probably one of the most important figures behind the development of Mystery Babylon. Interestingly enough, Saturn was also known to be a ‘god of hidden counsels’, ‘Concealer of Secrets’ AND a “god of mysteries’.

In Ancient Egypt, Saturn was known as Amen Ra, the “Hidden One” as the Sun appears Hidden at Night Time. Amen Ra was the Midnight or Winter Sun. In Alchemical Terminology, Saturn is Sol Niger, the ‘Black Sun’. While the Sumerians called him, Lubat-sagušc or Star of the Sun.

Samuel Liddell MacGrethor Mathers sums up what Saturn rules over, “Saturn rules over the color Black; over Saturday in the week; over the period from the middle of December to the middle of February in the year over Capricorn and Aquarius in the Zodiac, which are his Houses.”

Mathers continues, “(Saturn) is the under the power of the number three in arithmetic, and the geometrical figure of the equilateral triangle.” The Chaldean Astrologers believed, “that the planet Saturn exerts the greatest influence upon all the movements of celestial bodies”.

Manetho states that, “In the beginning Kronos (Saturn) the Titan ruled the entire ether; his star the far-seeing gods called ‘the Shining One.’” Saturn is a kind of cosmic opposite of the Earth, a mirror in the void, reflecting our own selves into eternity.

Saturn is the Stern Teacher & Disciplinarian. The reason for the Ancient Babylonian Mystery cults was that many of the cults were dedicated to the worship of Saturn, like the House of Judah (i.e. the Jews) were dedicated to also worshipping in the Tabernacle of Saturn.

Judaism developed as a cult that began to worship Yahweh exclusively and gradually usurped competing regional cults. This is much like how Jupiter betrays his father Saturn/Chronos as well as fellow Olympians. There is many Parallels between Yahweh/ Jehovah, Yaldabaoth & Saturn.

‘Sanchuniathon’s History of the Jews’ states, “It was a custom of the ancients in great crises of danger for the rulers of a city or nation, in order to avert the common ruin, to give up the most beloved of their children for sacrifice as a ransom to the avenging daemons.”

The treatise continues, “And those who were thus given up were sacrificed with Mystic Rites. Kronos then, whom the Phoenicians call Elus, who was king of the country and subsequently, after his decease, was deified as the star Saturn.” Saturn is the god with 1000 Names.
